Qatar ExxonMobil Junior Tennis Tournament kicks off




The Qatar ExxonMobil junior tennis tournament, organized by the Qatar Tennis Federation, kicked off Wednesday at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex and continues for a week.

Approximately 80 male and female national teams' players will participate in the tournament, who will compete in a number of competitions for boys under 18, 14, 12 and 9 years old, whereas the girls' competitions will be for the under 18, 14 and 8 years old.

Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation said Tariq Zainal expressed his pleasure at organizing yet another edition of this local tournament sponsored by ExxonMobil, a leading company in promoting community development through its adoption of many initiatives and activities in various fields.

He added that the Qatar ExxonMobil National Teams Tennis Tournament embodies a strong partnership between the QTF and Qatar ExxonMobil, and is a representation of the great role that the company plays in supporting sports in the State of Qatar and tennis in particular, especially since it is the official sponsor of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open Tennis Championship For men, which will kick off from February 20 to 25, with the participation of a group of tennis stars.

Zainal stressed that the championship is an importance occasion on QTF's calendar, as it constitutes an opportunity for promising national team players to develop their playing skills and it promotes positive values that extend beyond the stadium confines
