Miguel Angel Carballo eyes golf success where compatriots tasted football success a few months.

Carballo is one of the golfer at the 132 player-field in the $2,500,000 prize money event which is the third leg of the 2023 Asian Tour and the second leg of the ground-breaking International Series, which was launched last year.

The International Series Qatar will be played from February 16 to 19 at Doha Golf Club.

Qatar Golf Association officials will hold a press conference on Monday February 13 to give more details about the event.

The event is organized by Doha Golf Club in association with Qatar Golf Association and Qatar Olympic Committee.

So it time for all the Argentinian’s based in Qatar to come and watch the Argentina golfer in action at the Doha Golf Club from February 16 to 19.

Players from 25 nationalities will be seen in action in the event. Players taking part from: Hosts Qatar, Japan, India, Saudi Arabia, England, Jordan, Tunisia, Egypt, USA, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, South Africa, Australia, Chinese Taipei, Argentina, Canada, Sweden, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Zimbabwe, Philippines, New Zealand, Singapore and Morocco.

Some of the top golfers include, Chan Shih-chang from Chinese Tapei, Nitithorn Thippong, Sadom Kaewkanjana (both from Thailand), Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace, Justin Harding and Charl Schartzel from South Africa, Americans Sihwan Kim, last year’s Asian Tour Order of Merit (OOM) winner along with compatriots Davis Love IV, Sihwan Kim, Andy Ogletree, Trevor Simsby, Jarin Todd, Berry Henson, Turk Pettit, Micah Lauren Shin.

Here are some career details about Miguel Ángel Carballo

Known affectionately as "El Tati", Carballo was the first Argentine to win on the Nationwide Tour. He has played on several Tours in his career, including the Web.com Tour (2007–11, 2013–14), European Tour (2006), Challenge Tour (2004–05), Tour de las Américas from (2003–04) and the Tour Argentino (2002–03). He played on the PGA Tour in 2012 and 2014.

 

With three holes to play of the 108 hole examination of The European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, looked like missing out on a card before he staged one of the greatest finishes ever witnessed at San Roque. A birdie, hole-in-one, birdie finish on the New Course won him the 17th card. Started out as a caddie at the age of 11 but was always practising and soon realised he had a talent for the game. Lists Eduardo Romero, Angel Cabrera and Rocardo Gonzalez as the players he is trying to emulate and looks forward to joining them on The European Tour for the 2006 season.
