FIE Grand Prix 2023 Doha from January 27 to 29

 The FIE Grand Prix 2023 will take place on Doha, Qatar, from the 27th to the 29th of January. This year, the category will be Epée Senior Individual.

Meanwhile, Team Qatar produced a solid performance on Thursday to claim a sliver medal in the foil team competition of 2023 Arab Fencing Championship, which hosted by Kingdom of Bahrain for four days with the participation of eight Arab nations.

Team Qatar consisted of Ali Turki Oweida, Abdulla Ismaeel Khalifa and Khalid Aref Hussain took the silver medal following a 33-45 defeat at the hands of Egyptian team in the final match.

Thursday’s medal was the second of Qatar in the championship after Ali Turki Oweida won the bronze medal in Foil event earlier on Tuesday.

Oweida won the bronze medal in Foil after losing 15-7 in the semi-finals to the Egyptian athlete Aladdin Abu Al Qasim (ranked third globally).

Eight Qatari athletes are taking part in the Championship. The Qatari mission is headed by Assistant Secretary of Qatar Fencing Federation Fahd Al Mulla, and includes 3 coaches.
